The short version: Bogey the app collects nothing, stores nothing about you, and sends nothing anywhere. It runs entirely on your Mac.
Bogey scans your local network and keeps everything it finds on your Mac. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no cloud sync, and no analytics or telemetry inside the app. Device names you assign, your activity history, and your settings are stored locally in your user Library and never transmitted.
The only time the app makes an outbound network request is license validation: if you enter a Bogey Pro license key, that key is sent to Gumroad's licensing API to confirm it's valid. Nothing about your network is ever sent off your machine: no device names, IPs, MAC addresses, or scan results.
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly, self-hosted analytics tool. It measures aggregate traffic (page views, referrers, country, device type) without cookies and without collecting personal or identifiable information. There is no cross-site tracking and no advertising network on this site.
Bogey Pro is sold through Gumroad, which handles payment and stores your purchase details under its own privacy policy. We receive your email address and license information from Gumroad so we can deliver your license and provide support. We don't sell or share it, and we don't add you to any marketing list.
When you message us through the support page, your name, email, and message are emailed to us so we can respond. That's the only reason we hold it. We don't use it for marketing, and we don't share it.
Because the app holds your data locally, you're always in control: delete the app and its data, or clear its stored state, and it's gone. For anything held on our side (support emails, purchase records), you can ask us to delete it at any time.
