Plain-English terms for using Bogey. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them.
Bogey is a macOS application that maps and monitors devices on a local network you are connected to. It is provided by Intergalactic Robots (Will Chatham).
You may use Bogey only on networks you own or are explicitly authorized to scan and monitor. Scanning, probing, or monitoring networks you do not control may violate laws and the policies of network owners. You are solely responsible for how and where you use the app, and you agree to comply with all applicable laws. Bogey restricts itself to private networks and asks you to confirm authorization, but that confirmation does not transfer responsibility to us.
Bogey is licensed, not sold. The free tier is provided at no cost. A Bogey Pro license is a one-time purchase that grants you a personal, non-transferable license to use Pro features. You may not resell, redistribute, or share license keys, or attempt to circumvent the app's licensing.
Pro purchases are processed by Gumroad and subject to its terms. Because a free tier lets you evaluate the app before buying, please try it first. If Pro doesn't meet your needs, contact us and we'll work with you on a refund through Gumroad.
Bogey is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. Device identification and type detection are best-effort estimates and may be incomplete or inaccurate. We don't guarantee the app will detect every device, run without interruption, or be error-free.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Intergalactic Robots will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Bogey, including any consequences of scanning a network. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app.
We may update the app and these terms over time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
